Athletics Philosophy

At the middle school level, RSU 68 athletic programs are designed to meet the developmental needs of students through appropriate intramural and interscholastic activities. At this level, athletic programs will emphasize exploration of various sports, the strengthening of fundamental skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and health and safety. It is the intent of the RSU 68 School Board that the programs promote opportunities for involvement of all team members in practices and play. The Board supports intramural activities for students not participating in interscholastic activities or when financial, staffing or other concerns require the school to limit the number of students participating in interscholastic activities.

Sports Physicals

All students that play sports for SeDoMoCha are required to have a physical on file in the nurse’s office prior to the start of the sports season. Summer is a great time to have this done. Please make sure to make arrangements to have your child’s physical completed before school starts. A new physical is required every two (2) years from the date of your child’s last physical. Students will not be allowed to participate without a current physical on file in the nurse’s office. A sports physical form is available for download under Athletic Forms; however, it is not a requirement to use this form. Please contact the school nurse at 564-6535 ext. 1106 if you have any questions or concerns.
