7th Grade Students in Ms. Willey’s science classes spent this past month getting in on March Madness action in a different way. March Mammal Madness is a spinoff of March Madness that explores the various traits and abilities that help different species to compete (and hopefully survive) in imaginary battles against each other. Scientists from Arizona State University facilitate the competition, which uses scientific research and a tiny bit of chance to help determine the winners, and ultimately a champion of March Mammal Madness.

Students were hard at work, researching all of the species involved in these battles and then creating their own MMM brackets with the goal of earning more points than their classmates by predicting the correct outcome for each matchup. This year’s champion species was the Great White Shark! 🦈🏆

Congratulations to our SeDoMoCha students who came out on top of the class competition!
