Recently, our 8th Grade Science teacher Mr. Dumont went to a professional development conference in Washington, DC. The Society for Science’s Middle School Research Teacher’s Conference is hosted annually and helps educators expand the quality of the research opportunities for their students. The Society for Science also sponsors the ThermoFisher Junior Innovators Challenge, which is the national science fair competition for middle schoolers. Mr. Dumont hopes that with an expanded perspective on what is possible for in-class research and the science fair, as well as new possibilities for funding and equipment, that SeDoMoCha will routinely have its 8th graders compete at the state science fair in the future
